Shane Moore Photography
About
Hello! I'm Shane. I fell in love with photography at the age of 12 when I was gifted my first camera. I grew up on 5 acres of wilderness in Williamston, Michigan where I spent countless hours exploring the landscape with my camera. My camera and I were inseparable. In high school I enjoyed directing, filming, and editing in our video production class. I moved on to major in Digital Media, Audio, and Cinema at Lansing Community College. A long the way I ended up working at The Camera Shop in Lansing, Michigan. Which I am now the manger of. I enjoy encouraging new photographers, answering complex camera/photography questions, and learning from talented photographers.
Passions
When I started working at The Camera Shop I fell in love with shooting film. My coworker, Patrick, gifted me a Canon FTb and a couple rolls of expired film. From there on film photography became my new obsession. Flash forwards 5 years and I have a large collection of film cameras and regularly shoot and develop my own film. I love buying neglected, old film cameras and restoring them to working order. I feel that shooting film has made me become a better photographer. It's a medium that forces you to slow down and evaluate all of the factors in your scene. From lighting and composition to posing, and emotion, and purpose.
Hobbies
"That day, for no particular reason, I decided to go for a little run."

I can often be found running through the trails and wilderness of Michigan. I participate in several mid-Michigan races every year. My biggest obstacle of 2024 was a 50km trail run in sleepy hollow state park. I enjoy challenging myself, and accomplishing races that I myself didn't truly know if I could or could not complete.

If I'm not running I can either be found competing in Spartan events or at the gym. I enjoy competition and am always looking for the next big challenge.
